Our First Lady

A DYNAMIC AND ENGAGING TEACHER OF THE WORD OF GOD

Lady Jodi Matthews

INSPIRING LIVES

Her passion is marked by a great intensity to empower and propel Christians to a deeper relationship in Christ and to an excellent spirit within. Her latest book, Revelation, Simply Put: A Visual Commentary on the Book of Revelation, is generating a successful, productive, and fruitful comprehension of the most complex book of Scripture, strengthening Christians’ faith in God’s Word.

DILIGENTLY WORKING (Her Profession)
Jodi is employed with the Federal Court of Detroit as Court Reporter to the Honorable Patrick J. Duggan. Before her promotion to the U.S. District Court, she was employed nine years as a court reporter for the 36th District Court of Detroit where she witnessed domestic violence, murder, rape and molestation cases. Hearing the testimony of these cases catapulted Jodi to script the empowerment book: Grasping for Sweet Things & Finding Nothing Inside: A Spiritual Empowerment Book for Women.

STRENGTHENING COMMUNITIES (Her Passion)
Jodi strongly believes in the empowerment and education of our youth whereby she participates annually in the “Reality Check Workshop”, inspiring High School, Middle School, and Elementary students, helping the community to generate successful and responsible young adults. In honor of her work in the community, Jodi was chosen as Special Honoree for the 2012 Developing K.I.D.S. Organization’s annual dinner given at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African-American History.
